A striking early 18th century turned wooden tobacco jar, striking early 18th century turned wooden tobacco jar, finely crafted in alternating bands of contrasting woods, likely including fruitwood, walnut and possibly laburnum or olivewood, creating a bold striped decorative effect. The beautifully stepped domed lid with turned finial and strong sculptural form reflect the craftsmanship of the period, combining practicality with decorative sophistication.
